Ever since childhood, I have been fascinated with handcrafting. My grandfather enlightened me on arts by taking me to calligraphy classes and traditional Chinese painting classes, and by spending his spare time doing crafts with me. When I was nine years old, he helped me make my very first dinning table. My grandpa has always been a huge influence in my life. He photographed my daily life with his film camera. We together explored and discovered the beauty of the world, as well as the creativity of people. He taught me that the happiest people are not those who own all the best things, but those who are able to appreciate the beauty of life. My world couldn’t be more amazing with him in it. He showed me how to create a whole new world with just bare hands. I like to observe what is around, in which my inspirations come from. I believe the happiest people are not those who own everything, but those who have the ability to appreciate beauties of life. To me, a good design does not merely consist of fancy forms, but is able to recall life experiences of each person to bring out resonate to arts.
